"SciCruise" welcomes "Spirit at Sea" for 2012 Mayan Adventure Cruise

We're joining SciCruise and Spirit at Sea together to create a bigger cruise group with even more onboard events, parties and workshops!

At first it might seem an odd pairing, a science and space theme cruise with a New Age spiritual theme cruise. Really it's not. There is a lot of interest in space and science among the spiritually minded, and many science minded people have a strong spiritual interest too. The crossover is very real.

Joint programming for both science and spirituality should have a great synergy. Both look at the great possibilities of life and the universe. Science helps keep it real. Spirituality shows us there is more to our lives and our universe than what science currently can tell us.  Both ask and attempt to answer the tough questions of life, the universe and everything.

2012 is a great time to explore both science and spirit. The meme of the Mayan calender ending in 2012 is so prevalent that almost everyone knows about it. Does it portend the end of the world, or is it the beginning of a new era of human understanding, a new paradigm?  Maybe it's just a myth. However you choose to look at it, no one can deny the power of myth on the human psyche.

My current favorite idea of a new paradigm of thought is "Biocentrism".  Biochemist Robert Lanza's 2010 book with that title takes is an interesting look at a link between cosmology and biology. Maybe George Lucas was on to something when he wrote about "the Force" in "Star Wars".  I'll be doing a  presentation on this.

We'll explore these and other powerful ideas on our 2012 Mayan Adventure Cruise. Come join us!

  1. That seems like a very good idea though the prediction did not come into reality. It might be fun to be part of it. Corryvreckan cruising can also be fun. Go try it.
